Q: What is a 'Kiko' goat?

A:  A breed developed from feral goats in New Zealand by crossbreeding selected does with Nubian, Toggenburg, and Saanen bucks under a strict breeding program with the main criteria being survivability and weight gain with little to no inputs.  With further crossbreeding and interbreeding the new Kiko breed was established, including only those goats performing exceptionally well for the above criteria in a hill country pastoral environment.
